“Madness At The Witching Hour”

Is there a form of madness hidden deep inside of all of us? A madness that emerges from an unknown fear of something we see every day. Could this madness drive us to cold-blooded murder? In Edgar Allan Poe’s short story “The Tell Tale Heart” the unnamed narrator tried to convince the reader that he was not mad, or insane. The narrator instead answered his own question that he asked the reader, “why will you say I am mad?”
