Beethoven and his 'heroic' period

Beethoven’s middle period of music is also commonly referred to as his ‘heroic’ period. This was a time in Beethoven’s life when the French revolution and the hero of the revolution, Napoleon Bonaparte, heavily influenced him. This time in Beethoven’s life was also scarred by his failing hearing.
