	The Rhind Papyrus The rhind papyrus was found in a small building in near the Ramessuem. It measured almost 18 feet long and 13 inches high. Originally there were three pieces of the Ppyrus, two of which were bought by A. H. Rhind.Rhind purchased the papyrus in Luxor, Egypt and at his death it was willed to the British museum. The third piece was later discovered on accident by an American Egyptologist named Edwin Smith. Smith bought an artifact that he thought was a medical papyrus in 1892.
