The Italian painter Michelangelo Merisi, better known as Caravaggio was born in 1573, in Caravaggio, Italy and died in Porto Ercole in 1610.
Carravagio is not normally thought of as a still life painter and is more well known for portraits and such. But during his short lifetime he produced some amazing still life's.
In 1584 when he was only 11 years old! he studied in milan for four years in the work shop of Simone Peterzano a painter of the time.
