Bev Doolittle was born in California, where she was raised. At age 15 she won her first art award in a contest sponsored by the San Gabriel Historical Society. After this she became a “working artist”, she was selling hand-painted Christmas cards to neighbors who somehow couldn’t send them, preferring to frame them. Her High School art teacher suggested that she apply for the Saturday Scholarship at the Art Center College of Design. She won this scholarship and began to prepare for college befor
