2)      Blindness is expressed in many different ways in these plays. However, the meaning of blindness is not taken literal, it is used metaphorically. In the plays they don’t use blindness as the meaning “unable to see”, they use it as a sign for wisdom. For example, although Oedipus was the actual blind one literally, metaphorically, Creon was the blind one because he was not able to see the actual truth.
