Many Jews find it hard to say whether it was unique as there are many arguments that can be made for each side. The different arguments I have considered are listed below.

Some Jews say that from Jewish perspective it was a unique event in Jewish history because of the number of Jews affected. The size of the persecution was enormous. At the time there were 18 million Jews in the world, eight million were in Europe. By the end of the Holocaust there was only two million left in Europ
