"Ovid's stories treat serious issues in a light-hearted and entertaining way." Judging from books 7 and 8 of Metamorphoses, to what extent do you agree with this statement?

Ovid tells many stories in Metamorphoses. Many of the stories have a very serious moral to them, however, Ovid explores them in a very light-hearted way. But this is not always true, in other stories Ovid treats serious issues in a very sorrowful manner using description and direct speech.
I agree with this interpretation to some extent as the story "Meleager and the Calydonian Boar" from book 8 is an extremely good example of Ovid treating a serious issue in a light-hearted and entertaining
