Heart attacks
I decided to write my summary paper for this unit on heart attacks. My dad has a lot of health problems and he has had 4 heart attacks in the past 3 years, so I wanted to learn a little more about them. A heart attack is when the blood vessels that supply the blood to the heart get blocked. This prevents oxygen from getting to the heart. The heart muscles either dies or becomes permanently damaged. Another term for a heart attack is myocardial infarction. One of the major symptoms of a heart attack is chest pain. You could feel pain on either one side of the body, or the pain could move from your chest to your arms. You could also feel pain in your shoulder, neck, teeth, jaw, belly area, or back. The pain usually lasts longer than 20 minutes and the pain can be mild or severe.
